ABOUT ME

In 2008 I took my first trip outside the US (I don't count Mexico since it's so close) and ever since I have not stopped traveling and dreaming about my future trips. I love to learn about new cultures, people, languages, anything can teach me or share with me, I will be open to. I am happy, strong, athletic, open and curious. I love to laugh! I always say that it's no fun to laugh quietly.

I'm am currently on a 4 month trip through Southeast Asia. The last hurrah before grad school! I spent the last 2.5 years teaching. First, English in Brazil and then as a substitute in California. After experience, wonderful times and much soul searching, I have decided to combine two of my academic passions, psychology and education, and will begin a master's degree in School Psychology. Can't wait!

Couchingsurfing is completely new to me. I have always stayed in hostels and would love a new experience.

Interests

Music: hip hop and r&b, alternative, odies, musica en español, lots of Brazilian music, a little bit of everything.

Books: Buddhist (the art of happiness by the Dalai Lama, Peace is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh, etc). Freakonomics, The Tipping Point by Malcom Gladwell (thought provoking books), The Kite Runner, Black Mambo Boy (historical fiction)....

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy studying and practicing meditation and Buddhism. I like to discuss religion and what exactly it is we are here for as long as both parties are open to learning a different view point. I love trading travel stories and experiences and things we've learned out in the world.
