Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to explore, learn and grow.
ABOUT ME
I am always smiling to demonstrate my positive attitude and open mind. I love to meet new people, have interesting conversations, and learn from their experiences.
PHILOSOPHY
Live in gratitude, think positive, try your best and assume others are doing their best as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am Couchsurfing because when I travel, the thing I enjoy the most is meeting people who live in a new place and learning about their culture and lives. I value human interaction, experiences and learning rather than checking things off a "must see" list.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Before joining Couchsurfing, I hosted travelers from Chile and across the U.S. on my couch, and it has been a ton of fun! I love learning about the lives and cultures of people from around the world. I am relatively new to the Couchsurfing community, but since I have joined, I have met couch surfers in Cali, Colombia with whom I was able to share my love for salsa dancing, speaking spanish, and of course interesting conversations. I am looking forward to meeting, learning from, and sharing experiences with many more amazing people from around the world.
Interests
Travel (of course), live music (especially Latin and jazz), salsa dancing, Spanish (though it is a bit of a stretch to say I am fluent, I can have a very interesting conversation and communicate effectively), sun, surf, sailing, swimming, hiking, yoga, being in nature, and eating (especially healthy, fresh, and vegetarian food - with dessert thrown in for balance)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Latin, Latin Jazz, Cuban, Bossa Nova, Classical
Books: I mostly read non-fiction, but recently, I read "Full Circle: A South American Journey" by Luis Sepulvida. I loved it! It made me realize that I have been missing the poetic use of words to paint a picture, and it has inspired me to read more fiction.
My first novel in Spanish, read during my recent travels in Colombia, was "Relato de un náufrago" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez - Amazing!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Do I have to pick just one?
