Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm moving to Florida in mid-June. I have a full-time job lined up, but little cash to move with. I also think staying with real people when I first arrive is a much better way to get acquainted with a brand new city.

I arrive in town on June 23rd or 24th. I have a work trip to Chicago from June 26-29. I plan to stay in a hotel for my first few days in town. When I get back from my business trip, I'd like to stay with locals for a week or so while I look for an apartment.

I hope to be able to host within a few months of moving to Florida so I can pay it forward.

Interests

Writing, reading, sci-fi, and comedy tv and movies. I guess I like good storytelling. Like to dance and cook too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I usually like songs over artists. Currently, I'm a big fan of Tori Amos, Tegan and Sara, Imagine Dragons. But, I also listen to a lot of rap and hip-hop.

Books: Just about anything by John Steinbeck, but especially Cannery Row and East of Eden.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught for high school students for 2 years. If you've done it, you know that it's an amazing thing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a decent cook. I'm happy to share food and good wine. I'm also happy to help around the house with cleaning and organizing.
