About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To join the movement. Also, to meet cool people and have fun.
ABOUT ME
I enjoy cooking, yoga, hiking, reading, traveling, working on projects, and eating great food. I'm pretty intense when it comes to my work, but with just about everything else I'm really laid back. I love trying new things and I've got more hobbies than I can count, but relaxing over good food and drinks w/ good company is what I enjoy most.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined couch surfing b/c I thought meeting new people would be fun and because I enjoy being hospitable and trying to make people feel at home. I also think the concepts of both making travel affordable and trusting people are really important. I'd like to host more surfers who live in international destinations so that they can return the favor when I travel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've probably hosted 20 to 30 couch surfers over the years and I couch surfed when I was in Montreal a few years ago.
Interests
Food, health, social justice, social policy, politics, cute animals, doing stuff outside, being crafty, thrift store shopping, art, music, traveling (of course), and tea.

Music, Movies, and Books
Quality is more important than genre for all of these things, but I'm not a snob about them. I love it when couch surfers introduce me to new music and recommend books that I might like.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking in the mountains is always wonderful and I wish I could do it every day. Building houses in Reynosa, Mexico years ago was amazing b/c I met people who had basically nothing but were generous and joyful to be alive. Seeing Nancy Pelosi's face blown up on the wall of a megachurch in San Francisco while everyone cheered "THANK GOD FOR NANCY PELOSI" is something I'll probably never forget.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm also always up for learning new recipes and getting recommendations for music, books, and TV. I'd also love to improve my Spanish and learn more about gardening and photography.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my home, a meal, a bike, and knowledge about Austin. I know a lot about current events and public policy, and I've been trained to teach yoga.
