About Me

CURRENT MISSION

get outa town and enjoy life

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Chicago, with my parents, 1 sister and 2 cats. I lived in the same house until I left for university, and even now most of my stuff is there.
I'm working in Spain this year as an English Teaching Assistant but I'm returning to the states in July 2012 to begin a grad program in Biology. I've been spending a lot of my free time this year in the kitchen, trying new recipes, with mixed results.
I'm kinda shy/quiet usually and like to read a lot but I'm told I have a sense of humor.

PHILOSOPHY

Do onto others as you would have them do onto you.
just relax, it usually works out in the end

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I usually say I like a little of everything. I don't have a favorite group now but this year I've heard lots of concerts with music I hadn't listened to before and I liked almost all of them.
Books - I love to read. I read all that I can. I like almost all types of fiction, but my favorite authors now are Jasper Fforde, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I'm trying to read books in Spanish, with mixed results, jaja
Movies - Winter's Bone, True Grit, Mel Brooks movies, Psycho (the original), Nightmare Before Christmas, Fargo, Pan's Labyrinth, Naked Gun, Airplane

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was camping in Arkansas with a school group, canoeing down a river, and stopped to take a small hike. There was a huge waterfall. Everyone who could walked under it (I couldn't as I had a cast for a broken arm at the time) and the expressions of joy on my group-mate's faces as they stood under the waterfall was wonderful to see.
