About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To expand my perspective of the world and the people who live in it. I aspire to converse, even debate, with highly opiniated people, share my ideas and dreams, and learn about as many cultures as I can!

ABOUT ME

I believe a lot in a certain balance in life, that includes my personality. I'm very down to earth, I love to laugh and I'm always up to adventures. I like to go with the flow and see where the universe takes me. On the other hand, I try to be organized so I won't drive myself crazy. Even though I like going with the flow, I like to also have an idea of how my day is going to be like. I have a lot of passion for many things in life, one which is living every day to the fullest! The main reason I have this profile is because I plan on doing a lot of traveling in my life. Maybe this will help me on the way! :)

Simply, I enjoy fun and uninhibited people and I definitely enjoy my beer. If you find this is enough, great! If you need to know more, keep reading!

Since I am such a passionate person, I really enjoy stimulating conversations and even debating with someone who has opposite views. I am not an angry person but I will defend what I believe is right. I should tell you off the bat I am a pacifist and I believe in the natural rights of all living things. (So no, I don't believe war or death is ever necessary!)

I believe a lot in people because I know of the great things they are capable of. I also believe that anything and everything is possible and everything happens for a reason! At times its hard to trust people but its magnificent the good things that can happen when you do.

Overall, I really love exploring and experiencing new cultures and lifestyles. I hope to meet all kinds of people as I begin my travels!

PHILOSOPHY

"Do not dwell on the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."

"All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become."
-Buddha

I think the mind and the ego can be imprisoning. You are your own best friend and your worst enemy. These quotes reflect the daily efforts I put towards my own spiritual and mental health. And I think it's also important that everyone else can do the same. They just need an eye-opener..someone to awaken them.

Here's one from my favorite movie:
"How happy is the blameless vestals' lot! The world forgetting by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. Each pray'r accepted and each wish resign'd."
-Alexander Pope

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've couchsurfed once and would love to do it again!

Unfortunately, I do not live in a place where a room or couch is at someone's disposal. There may be a room available around February, but that is not for certain.
I will definitely keep this page updated if I am able to host a surfer :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a huge movie buff! My father and I would bond over action movies as a little girl, so I know and love the classics!

Movies: Lethal weapon, Die hard, Indiana Jones (most Harrison Ford movies), The terminator (most Arnold Schwarzeneggar movies), Independence day, Rush hour, and the list can go on forever..

Some modern movies: PRETTY MUCH ALL QUENTIN TARANTINO MOVIES; Grindhouse, Reservoir Dogs, Django, etc. Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, Life of Pi, Romeo and Juliet (Baz Luhrmann), Anchorman, Grandma's boy, The Truman show, Hunger games, Harry Potter, etc. I also enjoy short films and indie movies.

Music: I'm very diverse when it comes to music. One day I'll listen to some punk/rock, the next could be girly pop or jazz. I appreciate the soul that goes into making music! Some bands:
RHCP, Tame Impala, Kid cudi, Norah Jones, KT Tunstall, Against me!, Red hot chilli peppers, Toro y moi, The killers....

Books: The Alchemist, The origin of species, A million little pieces..hoping to read more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am young in the sense I haven't traveled much of the world or experienced the thrill of real adventure. I would love to go sky diving, cliff diving, canoeing, and zip lining. I would also like to visit the amazon of Peru and Colombia.

My family originates in Lima, Peru and I had the great pleasure of visiting them twice when I was a pre-teen. At 13, I suppose I couldn't appreciate the things I appreciate now. Peru is beautiful! I went to Huancayo to a village up in the mountains. It was my first real adventure to a place unknown. The only bummer was all the twists and turns as I suffer from vertigo and I get super motion sick! Of course, that won't stop me from doing anything. I just have to either take some medicine or roll down my window during long car rides...like a dog :/
The altitude was new to me as well. But when we got there, it was serene. It was one of those moments I wish I can hold on to. I also met llamas up front and I'll warn you, they're very sassy. One bit me for trying to take a picture with it! I went horse back riding and I learned so much about the country where my whole family is from.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give pointers on ballet and yoga. How to be able to breathe and let go of the things that obstruct your mind. I like being able to teach people something because I also learn in the process.

I would love to learn absolutely anything that you can offer. Even if it isn't something big or special. Just the fact that you allow me in your environment and your culture would be more than enough for me.

Sharing ideas and thoughts is always relieving and can be fun. It's amazing how many strangers out there share the same dreams and passions as you do, from a TV show to political stance.
