Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To remind humanity of the freedom and beauty that exist in the world.
ABOUT ME
I love all forms of creative expression, but am partial to music. I love meeting people, especially the kooky and eccentric. I would rather experience something new than something I already know. Eternal seeker of truth (if there is such thing) and beauty. This is a hard thing to type into a box. Let's talk about it over a pitcher of brew.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy is to be generous and grateful and to be healthy and happy and free.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed through CS a handful of times (Santa Fe, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Des Moines, Asheville, and Walnutport, PA) and have been consistently amazed at each experience. I was talking to a skeptical friend recently and said, "It's kind of like Christmas. You're probably getting something good, you just don't know what."
I was able to hook some travelers up while I was living and working at a Buddhist retreat center in Colorado, though I didn't get to see them as much as I would have liked to. I look forward to hosting soon as I plant some roots in sunny Southern California.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As far as couchsurfing.org experiences, I spent a couple of really fun days with some folks in Santa Fe. Went snowboarding, saw some live jazz and a belly dancing show, played music, and had some goood times. Had arranged to stay with a girl in Amarillo, but that fell through at the last minute. Ended up sleeping in my van that night. Thank god for wal-mart parking lots and starbucks bathrooms. Otherwise I've surfed couches in Oakland, Aspen, Vegas, Santa Clarita, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, and Rogers, AR. Squatted in an empty office in an old hospital in Asheville, NC for three weeks.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've spent a lot of time trying to define "Art." In my opinion any genuine form of self expression that can make another person feel, whether it be anger, sorrow, happiness, shock, whatever, is art. Any song, book, movie, poem, photograph that fits into that is good by me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was blessed with a free ride to Burning Man last year, cooking for one of the major camps. I spent two full weeks in the desert, watching the playa transform and come alive. I was consistently blown away by the amount of love and gratitude that flowed into our dusty little dome-shaped kitchen. Total game changer.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe it is the moral responsibility of those who have learned lessons or overcome obstacles to share those lessons with those who may be struggling. We must always learn and teach, teach and learn.
