About Me

I'm a French guy freshly married to a wonderful American girl! She and I lived together in France for 5 years before we decided to move to the USA.
Back in France I was a social worker. I mostly worked with adolescents with behavioral issues. I love working with young kids because they keep me young and are the most honest people in the world!
I am currently working as a para professional at my town's middle school. Later on I'm hoping to become a French teacher! ( why waste my natural skill?!)
Finally I can't accept guest because my wife and I are living at her parent's house to save some money and finally have a place of our own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first tried Couchsurfing during a road trip with one of my French friend ( the one on the picture). At first, we used it as an alternative to Airbnb but we ended up only going through Couchsurfing. We did this not to save money (we actually probably spent more money inviting our hosts for drinks!) but to meet people in their natural [S]tate. I have to say, we mostly met incredibly interesting and generous people

Interests

I love to eat, cook and discover new food. I really enjoy beers (and wine I have to say I sworn an oath to the French government 😜). And I have to say America is the place to be in term of beers!
To get ride of all these carbs I play soccer and hike.
But sometimes the call of binge watching is too strong and I can spend an awful amount of time watching shows and movies.
I'm also really into news.
Finally I love spending hours playing board games with friends and family.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like pretty much everything, even real bad music. Yes I have a lot of guilty pleasures. But when I can choose what I want to listen to I mostly listen to indie, classic rock, hip-hop, electro, Classic French music.
Movies: Lord of the Rings, Cohen movies, To kill a mockingbird, and a lot more!
Books: 1984, A song of Ice and Fire ( not so much lately ... I hate you Martin!!) , Le guépard ( Il gattopardo ) and books from Laurent Gaudé.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I didn't climb any huge mountain or swim across an ocean. But I decided to move to the US and live at my in-laws even though I haven't lived at my parents house since the age of 18! So I think that's pretty amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some French bad words. I could also give you an introduction to French music ( no, David Guetta doesn't belong to that introduction). I would love to share point of views ( as long as you are not a ultra conservative. That would be pointless.)
I'd love to learn more about American history and literature. Also if you have some recipes to share, I'm in!
