About Me

Dear friends,

My name is Chris, I'm 24 years of age, and I have been travelling for about 7 months now. It sounds cliche, but my time exploring Europe has been one of rich discovery and learning. Through many mistakes, I have come to accept that city-hopping is exhausting, and often leads to missing out. This trip has taught me thus far that it is far better to immerse oneself in a culture, language and people than to be driven by the notion that 'one travels merely to gain'.

So who am I, really? I am still finding out. But people who know me describe me as funny, optimistic and outgoing. I have a passion for social justice, travel, new experiences, learning, and meeting people.

I love deep discussions about history, feminism, politics, philosophy and sport.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am volunteering with a refugee shelter in Berlin, and I am looking for a home for the next four weeks. You may not be able to host me for longer than a couple of nights, but that's totally fine - I am used to hopping around. I have been staying in a hostel, and it has been too tempting to stay comfortable; hanging out exclusively with the wonderful travellers from around the world. I am now looking to be graced with the opportunity to become more immersed in the German way of life. To live and breathe like a Berliner for the next four weeks. For this reason, I believe CS is the way to go.

Your kindness will not be in vein - I will reimburse you generously with free-trade coffee, chocolate and decent company!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will tell you about how I broke my foot last year playing monopoly (this seriously happened). I have many other great stories, and I would love to hear yours.

I am a respectful, self-sufficient, sensitive new-age man! I can clean, cook and do dishes. I enjoy the occasional beer, but I believe that to make the most of my time while exploring and for volunteering, I need to be spritely in the mornings and therefore tend not to drink much.

Perhaps down the track you can visit me in sunny Brisbane Australia?!
