Overview
About Me
I'm a grad student in particle physics, studying the smallest parts of matter that lie deep within the heart of every atom in the universe. I'm helping out with this effort at a particle collider just outside New York City, where we smash protons together at nearly the speed of light.
On the creative side of life, I'm really into music.. I play primarily percussion instruments and I'm always down to jam with anyone! I'm also interested in hiking, biking, camping, caving, traveling, basically just exploring new places in general.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My preferred way of travel is to meet locals and to learn about new places and cultures. I've had amazing experiences couchsurfing in Europe and hope to have many more around the world.
Interests
Hiking and exploring, math/physics, languages, cooking, spinning poi, travelling, and playing music.. I primarily play drums, kalimba, flute, and tombak.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music is so varied that it's hard to pinpoint any favorites. I tend to gravitate toward music that seems to take a lot of talent to play.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been teaching myself how to play this Persian drum called "tombak", which is typically only learned under a master. Since there are no masters around my area, I've had to learn exclusively from youtube videos and sheet music. After only three years of playing, I can already see it's going to be a lifelong journey...
What I Can Share with Hosts
If anyone plays music of any kind, I'll be happy to jam with him/her!
I've been told I'm good at teaching people some cool physics, even by people who never understood much science before. The universe is extraordinarily interesting and it's amazing how much there is yet to be learned.
