Hello, Cześć, Hola, Konichiwa, Halo & greetings to everyone :)

I'm Chris, 26 (ugh!) and I'm a student at SHU currently studying Software Engineering in Sheffield. I consider myself someone who gets around whatever means necessary. I enjoy travelling, discovering new things, computers and football. I have lived in 3 countries and have visited around 18 seperate countries. I still feel like I haven't discovered enough so I'm on a hunt to explore more.

Since meeting my girlfriend, Ewa (see link below!) we've been planning and going on many adventures. In 2016, we backpacked around Poland visiting Warszawa, Kraków, Zakopane, Gdańsk, Lublin & Chełm. For 2017, we have booked ourselves a 5 week adventure where we will fly into Cancun, Mexico and travel around the region whilst also hopping across the border into Belize and Guatemala.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm someone who prefers to learn about different cultures and ways of life. I feel I wouldn't achieve this if I stayed in a hotel because it just seems to be the same experience in every hotel. If I'm going somewhere new, I want a new experience as much as possible. I feel like I could gain a much better visting experience if I spent time with locals or stay with someone from a different culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, ahh, where to begin... literally everything. I'm aware that this is a common answer, but to give you a better idea of why I say everything, I mean everything such as 1940's Jazz to your hardcore Drum & Bass. I'm never put off by peoples music and I'm always interested to discover more music...

... unless you listen to Nicki Minaj, then we're going to have a few issues. (joking, sort of)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - I'm always available to teach anyone about the English Language & English Culture. I'm from a region in England (Yorkshire) that is well known for it's amazing food. I could cook many of our regions recipes if you want to experience them. I am willing to bring a few items over from the UK if requested - but let me know before my travel date (just as long as they are small, as I will be backpacking, and won't be a security risk to your country) - example could be, educational book, souvenirs, gifts etc.

Learn - I love to learn new languages. I'm currently learning Polish, Spanish and German (I'm only a beginner). I would love to pursue these languages even further. However, that doesn't mean I don't want to just learn these. I'm open to be taught different languages all across the world.
