About Me

I've been living quite a different life for the last few years. In 2014, I quit my job at a software company and decided to teach English in the Marshall Islands for a year. The program placed me on an outer island with 200 people, 85 of which were the students I taught. No running water, minimal electricity from solar panels, and way too much canned tuna. It was a crazy experience to say the least.

After a brief summer back home I packed up my things and flew to Europe and began walking the Camino de Santiago. After finishing the 500-mile walk in 37 days I flew to Florence to wwoof(.org) on a farm about 20 miles south of the city. I stayed with an amazing Italian family for a month before venturing off to a few other European destinations.

In the summer of 2016, I drove over 16,000 miles through the United States visiting 49/50 states (though I've officially been to all 50!) in four months. I spent the summer collecting portraits and interviews from dozens of people (one from every state). It was also the first time I started couch surfing!

I've completely fallen in love with this adventurous life of travel and the incredible people I've met along the way.

My current project is a 4-6 month, one-way ticket expedition around the world. I plan to take what I've learned from my previous adventures and apply them on a global scale. This entire trip will be documented through audio journals and interviews with people I meet in all of the countries I stay in. That includes you! I'm looking for hosts with colorful stories and those who are able to show me around their favorite parts of town as well as the lesser known problems of the society you live in. My hope is that this is a journey of exploring different cultures and stories which I can then share through an episodic podcast upon my return.
