Overview
About Me
I live in Nashville, TN and work as a composer of music for TV and Film. I grew up traveling and living in cities all over the world but my home base was always either Vancouver, B.C. or Los Angeles. I love traveling and I especially love meeting all kinds of new people, I feel like our differences are what make the world so interesting and it's important to reach out to connect with one another. I'd like to think I'm a pretty laid back person, I meditate twice daily and do my best to stay actively engaged and aware. I love playing music, listening to music, taking photos, drawing/painting, good conversations, good wine, long empty roads, and surfing. And lots of other things too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I recently found myself having to move homes and recognized an opportunity to have an experience I've always dreamed of having, so rather than moving into a new home right away I decided to put most of my things in storage, pack up a few essential items and some cameras and ride my motorcycle around North America for 8 weeks or so. I'll be honest and say that part of me is a bit nervous but the greater part of me is excited to see all of the beauty this country has to offer and take lots of photos. My favorite part of traveling is connecting with people along the way and Couchsurfing seemed like the perfect way to meet incredible people throughout my journey.

Music, Movies, and Books
There's almost too much music to list but for starters: Radiohead, Queens of the Stoneage, Bernhoft, Hiatus Kaiyote, Jordan Rakei, Tingsek, Nirvana, Incubus, Beck, Matt Corby, and so so much more.
Movies: I'm not really sure if I have a favorite movie. I really liked Interstellar...
Books: Thus Spake Zarathustra, Illusions, The Southern Reach Trilogy, just about anything written by Chuck Palahniuk or Stephen King, Cat's Cradle, Cloud Atlas
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2011 I spend 3 months in China teaching kids the performing arts!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not really sure what this prompt is asking for so I'm going to take my own route with it and say that I prefer to be the student. I don't feel it's my job to actively teach anyone else how to do or be anything, each persons journey is his or her own. However, through holding the space of active learning you share in the experience and exchange of information with one another and you both end up learning :).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm incredibly respectful of other people's space and if I were fortunate enough to be invited into someone's home I would honor that. I have stories to share as well as ears to listen if that's what someone is in need of. My favorite part of traveling is connecting with people and I feel that is probably my greatest asset to offer my hosts.
