Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do and this seems like one great way to do it. I want to meet new people, hear some stories, learn what it means to be a local in places. I want to experience as many things as possible. I want to immerse myself in other cultures, which I can't really do by just staying in a hotel or in a hostel.

Música, películas y libros

Alternative rock, classic rock, rap, reggae, classical (mainly romantic period to early modern, especially cello pieces) and more. To give an example of how much I love music, I have over 25,000 songs on my iTunes and there's still so much more that I want. I like most all kinds of movies, comedy with my favorite being Monty Python and the Holy Grail, action, anime (especially Miyazaki!) and more.

Tough to decide on one experience. I also have too many amazing experiences to boil them down to a short bullet point list like so many people on CS seem to do so I'll go into depth on one of them as this section intended. One of my favorites was going on a turtle walk in Costa Rica. It was to mark where turtles had laid their eggs, which species of turtle had laid eggs and tag turtles. I ended up getting to watch a turtle laying eggs, you would never guess that a turtle could move as fast as it does when covering up where the eggs were laid. The stars that night were some of the best I'd ever seen since I was in the Osa Peninsula which has the largest stretch of tropical rainforest in Central America. And the cherry on top was the bioluminescent bacteria that was in invertebrates that were in the sand and when you applied pressure to the sand the bacteria would light up a beautiful blue so it was like I was surrounded by stars. Very magical experience.
