I am 19 years old and I live in Melbourne, Australia.

My three favourite things to do are: Surfing, Water Polo and playing guitar.

I am currently studying Commerce/Science at Monash University - pretty boring I know! Thats why I decided to defer this year and travel around Europe.

Whilst I live in Melbourne I have spent a lot of my time in a small coastal surf town called Portsea, as well as down at the Great Ocean road, which is host to the world famous surf break Bells Beach. Both of these places are pretty unique in the fact that there is heaps of coastline that hardly anyone goes to, making them my favourite places to escape to and explore new untouched surf breaks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new to Couchsurfing, but I am very excited to start using it whilst I am travelling this year and hope to be able to return the favour to other Couchsurfers when I return to Australia later this year.

As I mentioned earlier I am having a gap year. I spent the first half of the year working as a Carpenter's apprentice in order to save up enough money to travel around Europe with a friend. Unfortunately we weren't able to save up quite enough money to be cruising through 5 Star hotels, but instead we are looking to Couchsurf (which will probably be much more fun anyway!).

Interests

I love being outdoors and some of my hobbies and interests include:
- Water Polo, not the most common sport but I have been playing it regular since I was 7 years old!
- Surfing, I will take any chance I can get to head to the coast to get a surf in
- Snowboarding, I am going to Japan in February next year for my first international snow trip
- Hiking, I am traveling to Nepal to try hike Mount Everest Base Camp in November
- Acoustic Guitar, playing guitar is the way I relax
- Music Festivals (and music in general which I talk about in the next section)
- Amateur photographer, I purchased an old film camera from the 60's in Amsterdam and I currently learning the ropes of old school photography
- Travelling, I love to travel and feel I have seen quite a lot of the world for someone of my age.
- AFL Football, if you are from Melbourne (my home city) you will end up being a footy supporter (Australian Rules Football that is)

As cliche as it may be, I love to live life to its fullest! I am always up for new experiences and pushing outside of my comfort zones. It is for this reasons that I believe my stay with my Couchsurfing hosts will be a memory that will last forever with both of us.
