I recently graduated from the University of Florida with a duel degree in political science and sustainability. I spent the summer backpacking across Europe and learned a lot about myself and what I want out of life. One of those realizations was I really want to connect with new people and have meaningful experiences beyond the usual touristic avenues. In the near future I plan on moving to New York to pursue a career in social activism and creative writing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've never couchsurfed before in an online setting, but it's something I'm excited to try and hopefully host once I've got my own place. Additionally, I really don't have much interest in traveling to big shiny places unless I know there's a human element to it.

I've got 60s and 70s music on repeat, but otherwise I'm pretty open to listening to anything that has a deeper message. I'm also a big sci-fi reader/watcher (I really liked the new Dune movie).

I'm certainly not an expert cook, but I'd enjoy making meals whenever possible for everybody in the house, I'm particularly fond of cooking black beans and rice.

I'd love to trade stories of travel and past experiences as well as share our interests in books and music.

I've been told I trend towards deep-introspective conversations so if you like that sort of thing we'll probably both have a lot to learn from one another!
