关于我
Geospatial engineer | Born in Iten (home of champions) | I've traversed all of Kenya
I'm a 36-year-old geospatial engineer who was born in Iten—the famous "home of champions" here in the Rift Valley. Growing up surrounded by world-class athletes taught me about discipline, resilience, and the beauty of high-altitude landscapes. But my curiosity didn't stop there. I have traveled across every corner of Kenya, from the shores of Lake Victoria to the reefs of the coast, from the arid north to the green hills of the central highlands.
By profession, I read the land through maps and data. By passion, I experience it through people, stories, and shared meals. I speak English, Kiswahili, and Kalenjin fluently, so I can connect with almost anyone in this country—and help you do the same.
As a host, I don't offer a luxury hotel. I offer honest conversation, insider knowledge you won't find in a guidebook, and a genuine welcome into my world. Whether you want to understand Kenyan running culture, plan your next road trip across the Rift Valley, or simply sit down and talk about life over a cup of chai, you are welcome here.
"A traveler without local knowledge is just a tourist." Let me help you see Kenya the way I do.
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
I read maps for work, but I believe people make the best guides. I've slept in towns most tourists skip and learned that generosity travels further than any passport.
I've traveled across every corner of Kenya, and the best moments were never the famous landmarks—they were the conversations with locals who welcomed me in. Now I want to return that gift. I'm here to meet curious travelers, share stories over chai, and help you see Kenya through local eyes. Just genuine human connection.
I'm on Couchsurfing to host travelers who want more than a photo—they want a story. I'll give you mine. You give me yours.

音乐、电影和书籍
Movies: I enjoy a good action film to switch off my brain.
Music: I listen to whatever sounds good—Afrobeat, local Kenyan artists, some gospel from my younger days. I can't name the latest stars, but I know what I like when I hear it.
Books: I read professional material (maps, geospatial reports) more than novels. But I do enjoy biographies of Kenyan athletes. The discipline and sacrifice they show is inspiring to me.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I've traveled to every single county in Kenya.
Not just the tourist spots—I've slept in small villages, crossed rivers that weren't on any map I brought, and found myself in places where no one spoke English or Swahili, only local dialects. Each trip taught me something new about my own country. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.
教,学,和分享
Teach
Geospatial skills: I can show you how to read a landscape like a map – contours, drainage patterns, even how to find north without a compass using the sun and vegetation. Want to understand how Google Maps actually works? I'll teach you the basics of GIS.
Trainer's patience: As a college trainer, I know how to explain complex things simply. No question is silly in my presence.
Iten's secret: I was born in the Home of Champions. I can teach you why that small town produces the world's best runners – it's not just altitude, it's culture, diet, and mindset.
Swahili survival: A few phrases that will make Kenyans smile at you.
Learn
Your home landscape: How does your country use land? What does your map look like compared to mine?
Your running or fitness story: I've seen champions train since childhood. What is your physical discipline?
One recipe: I want to learn one simple, honest dish from your kitchen. I'll trade you a Kenyan ugali or nyama choma lesson.
Your unexpected Kenya fact: You've probably read the guidebooks. Tell me what surprised you most here.
Share
My Kenya, not the tourist's Kenya: I've worked and travelled every county in this country. I will share the real routes, the safe roadside food stops, the friendly towns, and the places to avoid.
A cold drink and a story: After your journey, we sit. You tell me about your road. I'll tell you about mapping mine.
Logistics without drama: I know bus stages, schedules, and which matatu routes actually make sense. I will share that knowledge freely.
A clean floor or couch: You get a calm, safe place and clear expectations.

I'm not rich, but I share what I have:
A deep knowledge of Kenya – every county, the real routes, the safe stops, the hidden views.
Map skills – I'm a geospatial engineer. I can show you how to read any landscape.
Patience – I'm a college trainer. I explain things clearly.
A quiet, clean presence – I'm 36. You won't even know I'm here except for the washed dishes.
One Kenyan meal – simple, honest, made with gratitude.
You give me a floor. I give you a story, a skill, and a clean sink.
