We are back in Oberhausen Germany from our trip.

We started a backpacking Trip on Oct. 2022 and came back on June 2024. Now we are very happy to give something back to the couchsurfing community and creat good memories, like we experienced ourselves.

About our trip:
We wanted to do a big trip for many years, but there was always some reason to cancel the Dream. But there will be no better time than leaving the comfortzone NOW.
The plan was to come once around the world without taking an airplane. Unfortunally we had to stop our travels to support our family. Later we willl continue our journey and already looking forward to it.

On our world trip, we visited Italy, Austria, the Balkan-States, Greece, Turkey, via Silk-Road to China, Vietnam, Thailand and South Korea. For our second round Japan and then via Ship to canada, USA and South America is on the List.

We want to see the world without the vail of tourism. Getting to know new friends by surfing or hosting is what we aim. We love to cook, visit alternative places or just love to straw threw the streets with some beers from a Minimarket. Till now we make amazing experiences with couchsurfing and we would be very happy to create some more, while hosting and hopyfully also surfing again.

We believe in the good and that money cannot help for beeing happy. We think "in the cheapest hostels are the nicer people and in the tiniest pubs are the better partys."

About Chris: I worked as a mixture of urban planner, social worker and Real estate manager, when I gave single industrial buildings or whole Neighbourhoods a new life and purpose. I am always curious about those Projects abroad and also very happy to show you my favourite projects/places here.

About Laura: I am a Teacher in Sports and Politics. I love to go Jogging and would be happy if you know a nice Route in your City and of course I will show you my favourites here by jogging or cycling. I also love to cook and bake and collect recepies on our trip to create a cookbook later. We would be very happy to cook together to create an international Dinner. Cooking and eating together is so good for bringing people together.

So actually we are still in a small apartment, but we will find a solution to host you and in September we can go back in our flat, where our guest will have an own room.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We want to get in touch with lovely, funny and interesting people and like to see Cities through the eyes of locals. We don´t want to visit only the Tourist places and only get to know the Hotelportier. This is the reason we joined CS. And this is what we can offer if you visit us.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We like to show you our City by Bike and make a "Kiosk-Tour" with some beers or without. Or we have a bonfire in our lovely garden. Or we can cook something, because we are real foodies. Or what would you like to do?

You can stay on our Couch or with your tent/camper in our garden. (From Oct. 2022 we will start an own worldtrip and will not offer hosts, sorry)
