About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding a Four Leaf Clover and Making an Award-Winning Grilled Cheese

ABOUT ME

I've been living in New York for a year in a small episcopal parish in Harlem. I lived in an interfaith community where each person worked in a social service position.

In college, I spent a couple of summers just south of San Francisco in Los Altos Hills. I took a job working at a progressive camp for urban kids on an organic farm and wilderness preserve. I am looking forward to settling in the Mission District of San Francisco with a good friend in mid-September after a short solo trip to Seattle.

I grew up in Black Mountain, a little town of 7,500 people nestled in the Appalachia hills of Western North Carolina. I went to school in the mountains in Boone.

Some activities I'm fond of:
Banjo, cooking, passing time in my hammock, gardening, caffeinating in independent coffee shops, throwing frisbee, cycling with my radio, spending lots of time outdoors.

PHILOSOPHY

Let your life speak. In other words, let your life say something about your values. But also listen to that thing inside that gives you energy and joy and follow it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've spent many a night on other's couches or rooftops or floors. Our house hosted some surfers once in Boone. We didn't open our crowded apartment to surfers in New York. I anticipate opening my couch when I get my next place.
