About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My 2nd run across the U.S.
ABOUT ME
In 2012 I became the 30th person to run solo across the U.S. starting from the White House in Washington D.C. and ran to Santa Monica, CA. It took 88 days to cover 3,000 miles. I am 36 years old, a radio show host and have loved running most of my life. When I finished my first run in 2012 I decided I was not going to wait and I started running this time from Portland, Maine around three sides of the U.S. where I will end in Portland, Oregon! I was injured 1,000 miles in and took to a bike to finish the remaining 5,400 miles. In 2013, I suspended my journey in the middle of Texas, with 1,900 miles remaining.
July 5th of this year, I started where I left off in the middle of Texas, making my way to the Pacific Coast and up to Portland, Oregon. It's great seeing the country and sharing many Facebook and Twitter updates with my 80,000 plus followers.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that life only works to your advantage when you put all of your effort into it. You want to make a better life for yourself, then give life what it deserves. Volunteer, participate, encourage, love and be passionate about who you are, what you do and who you surround yourself with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I will be out from July 5th to August 7th, between Texas to San Diego and up to Portland, OR. I need a place to rest my head for the night after putting in 50-100 miles between cities and will be out the door the next morning around 7 am to get my miles in for the day.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Over the course of my first run across the U.S. I stayed with a few hosts and it was a a great experience. The ability to open your apartment or home. It was great to be able to share my journey of running across the U.S. I am a very clean person, very sociable and always willing to learn about the area and meet great people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like mostly top 40 and pop music. I bounce around between that and christian music, but I sometimes find myself in the truck with no music on too. I like history movies, non-fiction, political movies and dramas as well. I tend to read the news daily, but have not read a good book in ages, mostly because of time restrictions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The United States on foot after running 3,000 miles across it. Making the 30th person to ever run solo across the country. Now, I will be the 1st to run solo TWICE across the U.S. within 1 year and I can't wait!
