I am enjoying life and trying to figure out what to do with the rest of it. I work as an Au Pair in Oslo now, but before that, I completed my MS in chemistry. I'm an American.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm living in pursuit of something greater than myself, and maybe even some positive impact on the world. We'll see what I can do.

Interests

My only real hobbies at this point are taking pictures and playing the ukulele. I also keep a blog at aupairsnips.tumblr.com .
Oh, I also quite like cooking. If you let me stay with you, I'll make you a tasty meal.
I'm a scientist and, while it's felt a lot less apparent here, I believe it's vital that we improve scientific understanding among the general population. I'd like to work with mass media to accomplish this goal, but, as of yet, I have no idea how.
I like music and visual art, too. In terms of the first, I'm especially fond of dream pop and some ambient/experimental artists. As far as the latter goes, my tastes are less developed, but my favorite style is probably Precisionism.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies by the Coen brothers. Network's another one of my favorites.

I listen to a lot of dream pop right now, and some ambient experimental stuff. I love Arthur Russell.

I like nonfiction, but am a terrible reader. I used to think I had favorite books, but it's so hard to say. They're always so embedded in the context in which they're read.
