Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have not had the opportunity to host anyone back home, but after the experiences I have had so far this is something I intend to do when I return. I have used the site to track down fellow wanderers for get togethers and for the occasional place to crash for the evening.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am very new to the site, and have used it so far only in the USA. I have surfed in Texas and Nevada. I have also met with travellers in Florida and in Arizona.

Interests

I am interested in foreign culture and foods, and seeing as many sights and sounds as possible before making my decision where to set up base.
Music is one of my main interests; concerts, playing guitar, dabbling in the realm of experimental electronic.
I also enjoy art and cinema.

Movies:

Books:

Trying to get back into reading at the moment. Stuff i've reacently enjoyed; Jack Kerouac - On the Road, Fyodor Dostoyevsky - Notes from the Underground, Ernest Hemingway - The Old Man and the Sea, Bret Easton Ellis - Rules of Attraction, William S Burroughs - Naked Lunch.

Music:

Like a bit of everything, but at the moment I am caught in an electronic, intrumental hip-hop and jazz sort of groove.
Some favourites include; Burial, FlyLo, Radiohead, James Blake, Shlohmo, Bjork, Fourtet, Jamie xx, J Dilla, Clams Casino, Gil-Scott Heron, Teebs, Madlib/MF Doom, Nicolas Jaar, Balam Acab, Floating Points, Tokimonsta. Also like some older stuff like the stones, Jefferson Airplane, VU ,The Go-Betweens, Pixies and the Smiths.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A recent favourite was my Roadtrip from Vegas to Arizona and travelling around the rim of the Grand Canyon. Some beautiful scenery out that part, and with such dramatic landscape changes over the journey
