About Me

Hi! My name is Chris. I'm traveling through the world working odd jobs and trying to meet amazing people and see incredible places. I'm currently backpacking through Europe for two months after spending a year in New Zealand and six weeks in India.

Big fan of hiking and most things outdoors. Also love to settle in with friends and some drinks to play some board games or spitball theories about what's going to happen next season on Game of thrones! I love discussions about history and current events and hearing different perspectives from people in different countries.

Currently trying to learn German, but it's an uphill battle xD

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing to try to meet locals and really experience the culture of the places I'm visiting while hopefully saving a few dollars as well. When I'm settled in, I'd love to host others and help them do the same!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music - I usually get into hard rock music. System of a Down, Halestorm, Chevelle, and Rise Against are some of my favorites! I'll pop on some good folk music if I'm in the mood though and it's hard to beat a movie soundtrack for the feels (Braveheart, Westworld, anything by Thomas Newman)

Favorite Movies - Favorite TV shows instead? Game of Thrones and Westworld are amazing (those latest seasons were a little weak though). Dr. Who, Firefly, Stargate, Agents of Shield, The 100...a lot of campy sci-fi really. The Good Place, Santa Clarita Diet, and Brooklyn 99 for the laughs!

Favorite Books - The Phantom Tollbooth definitely. Jim Butcher and Brandon Sanderson are fantastic as well. Most things fantasy/sci-fi really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While traveling Australia, I climbed the 58 meter Gloucester Tree to the fire-lookout at the top!

Teach, Learn, Share

When I'm home, I try to share my passion for traveling with everyone (especially after a couple drinks), and try to teach whatever tips and tricks I've learned to help me get around the world. While I'm traveling, I learn that other travelers know way more about getting around than I do and I try to absorb as much knowledge as I can xD

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with the host some good conversation and many questions about their culture and way of life! I'm also interested in joining for any local experiences they don't mind sharing and would love to help prepare any foods, although I might not be so great at it.
