About Me

CURRENT MISSION

How can I live a life that helps people, and still leaves time to eat dinner with my wife and play fetch with my dog?

ABOUT ME

My name is Christopher, and I am twenty-eight years old. I got my first case of heartburn a little over two years ago, and I'm just now beginning to realize that I am becoming a full-fledged adult. I've lived in Arizona for around 6 years with my beautiful wife, the graduate student at ASU. She gets a ton more requests than I do, but that's okay.

I don't smoke, but I do enjoy a good beer now and again. I love both fancy food and fast food (and I love it when it's combination of the two), and learning all about people from different walks of life.

PHILOSOPHY

How do you live a life that is free of bogeymen and scapegoats? A life where no one is the enemy, because we are all equally responsible for pain and joy? What kind of life would that be? What would it take to set us free from it?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tried out couch surfing approximately three years ago with a friend while were traveling to a conference in Minneapolis. After a few other smaller experiences, my wife and I spent nearly two weeks on the road, staying at a different home every night (usually in a different state!). It was a BLAST. We got to know a lot of really interesting people, eat a lot of delicious food, and sleep on some of the most comfortable couches I've ever sat on.

There is something special about Couchsurfing. It brings people together.

Now, we're content to host people who are brave enough to travel down to the American southwest. We host someone just about every eight weeks or so!

Interests

I enjoy reading, drawing, cooking, listening to music, crocheting (but NOT knitting!), strategy board games, watching television, and playing fetch with my dogs.

Musical Artists I'm Currently Enjoying: Josh Ritter, K'Naan, David Bazan, Mumford and Sons, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Brother Ali, Jurassic 5, Trampled by Turtles, the Family Crest, the Decemberists

Television/Movies that I enjoy: Big Love, Modern Family, Hell's Kitchen (or, really, anything with Gordon Ramsey), Parks and Recreation, Community, Breaking Bad, Malcom in the Middle, and Parenthood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a few months in South Korea, where I had the opportunity to travel around the country, including visiting the city in which I was born.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you how to draw and crochet. I could tell you what comic book/graphic novel you should start reading based on your interests and personality, and I could clue you in on where to go in the valley to find some really good food (of any type!). If you're interested, I could teach you how to play one of the eighty board games in our collection.

Countries I’ve Visited
