About Me

Not sure what to add here...
I'm a male. I have most of my hair and all of my teeth still. I'm generally a good judge of character upon first impressions. I've never been shot (I didn't say that I have never been shot at), and I think that farts are hilarious,... albeit sometimes better left outside....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can't stand to pay (or see others have to pay) exorbitant rates for a desolate lonely room in a hotel/motel when there are so many interesting people to meet in the world and to share stories and meals with. I'd rather spend the money on treating my hosts to a meal or going out doing something fun during my stay. Billeting is also a better way to get to know what's in the area around where you are staying because the people you stay with live there. They/we often find many other inspirations from sharing in each others' company.

Interests

Contra dancing, swing dancing, nordic and alpine skiing, hiking, backpacking, climbing (rock and ice), sledding, skating, bicycling (on and off road), canoeing, swimmng... Ecological living in general, gardening, cooking...

Music, Movies, and Books

Quite varied and generally open minded in all of these departments. Not a big reader for pleasure so I might not have too much to offer in a conversation of such. However, I do like to read educational materials and /or instructional manual type stuff.
I should mention that I have not owned a television (by choice) since I moved away for college in 1987 and I have no intention of ever owning one. I do have a laptop computer and I will sometimes cue up movies or watch videos on that for some down time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Everything that I've done has been amazing to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Situationally dependent.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm pretty handy with fixing things. Generally pretty good with kids and though I have decided for myself to never bring any children into today's world, I usually get a kick out of playing with them and looking after them.
I'm pretty handy in the kitchen and I have had a garden most of my life. Both of these areas I am willing to offer assistance/leadership in.
