Overview
About Me
I create immersive and experiential entertainment and teach interactive performance techniques! I can explain more, but the way I explain it will differ depending on what reference points you have 😅
I am currently a nomad without a permanent residence, waiting for the right opportunity to arise that is compelling enough for me to sign a new lease. So, of course, I want to take advantage of this time to see the world!
I grew up in NJ and spent the better part of the last decade in NYC. I lived in Austin, TX for 10 months in 2017-2018, when it still had a decent amount of the weird that is unfortunately disappearing. Most recently I was living in Las Vegas for a few months teaching interactive performance and will be heading back this fall (2022) to work on an immersive show!
I love social dancing! My favorites are swing, blues, and hustle, but I also know salsa, merengue, bachata, and forro. If you know places where people go to dance those dances, I will be very happy!!
I also sing (always down for karaoke or a jazz jam), and time traveling (aka dressing up in the style of another era and going to a place or event that fits that style).
I'm definitely down for most any type of adventure! While I'm typically living in a city and don't get to spend extended time in nature very often, I live outdoorsy things and am very good at building fires and camp meals.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love getting a local perspective while traveling, and it's always more fun to have someone to explore with! You don't really get to know a place when you're just doing tourist-y things. I want to take advantage of this moment in life where I'm not tied to a particular place to see new places and meet new people.
When I did couch surfing for the first time a few years back, I was presenting at a film festival, so I wasn't able to spend as much time with my hosts as I would have liked. I will always make an effort to reciprocate the generosity of a host, but if it's ever the case again where I'm in town for something specific and my bandwidth is limited to spend time together, I'll be transparent to avoid causing unmet expectations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I produced an immersive show in a historic mansion in NYC that is most famous for hosting meetings of the founding fathers including George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, and also for being Lin Manuel Miranda’s go-to writing spot while he was working on Hamilton.
Random fun fact that still surprises me: I taught a meme-making workshop to Facebook employees
Teach, Learn, Share
I don’t teach dance professionally, but I’d be happy to show you the basics of any style I know (mostly swing, salsa and blues).
I do teach interactive performance professionally, buuut that's a very niche skill that might be a bit difficult to share without the right context. But I'll certainly tell you about that work, share my thoughts about the nature of imagination and belief, and if there happen to be any immersive experiences where you are, I'll share them with you!
I am starting to post more vintage-style content on my IG, so I'm always down for a photo shoot! I'm not a professional photographer, but I'm pretty good at taking photo and video and even if you don't want to dress up, we can take turns being in front of and behind the camera.
I'd love to learn more languages, and practice the ones I know some of! The older I get, I find myself getting more nervous to dive in and get things wrong in learning a new language, but having someone to practice with is such an important part of learning! Apps, classes and books can only get you so far.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I also love cooking for others and am particularly skilled at making brunch and unique cocktails, if you're open to letting me take up some space in your kitchen.
I used to work in scenic fabrication, so I'm pretty handy! Let me know if there's something you need help with.
