About Me
Hi there,
Since I made the account for our family, I will just call this the "About US" section.
Now, after reading some negative experiences and horror stories, I have edited this first part of our profile.
This way, if you fit the following, while we make no judgement, those situations and lifestyles are not suitable for us. So, that said, we do not use drugs, nor are we swingers.
We do enjoy a good cocktail or beer.
We love to play cards, especially spades.
We love to go for long aimless drives.
We are adventurous.
We are passionate about new experiences.
I am 45, currently I am working on my undergrad degree. I have spent the last couple years chasing my dreams and working in the field of social work. I also own my own travel agency, and enjoy researching new places in my spare time, it has become an obsessive hobby.
My partner, Christopher, is 44 and he is also pursuing an undergrad degree in the field of psychology. His goal is to work in forensic psychology. In his spare time he creates beautiful pieces of furniture/decor out of reclaimed wood. He has a storefront, booth at the farmers market, and a website to sell his projects.
We have two children that I adopted during a previous marriage. They are 9 and 14. Also 4 large dogs that were all rescues, the smallest is 70lbs, the largest a bernese is 135lbs.
We just moved into a tiny house, so we are no longer able to host, as 4 people and 4 large dogs barely fit into a 300sq foot home!!!! Many days I ask, what was I thinking????
HOWEVER, if you are passing through, hit us up for a cuppa or some crabbing and a game of dice!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My children are the reason for couchsurfing.
I know, that sounds funny right?
I was couchsurfing before I ever knew of couchsurfing LOL
I spent an amazing childhood filled with domestic travel, and then as a young woman I spent many years traveling the USA and some of Mexico.
My partner was born in Nuremberg, and spent most of his childhood there, and a couple weeks here and there in other countries until his family settled in California.
We both love travel, and not only do we want to inspire a sense of adventure, and a passion for visiting new destinations into our children, but we want to expose them to thinking globally. I want to raise open minded children, who are not only culturally aware, but accepting as well. I want my children to live a full and exciting life, while treating others without bias.
I feel that couchsurfing can provide the opportunity for my children to meet other people, learn about new customs, history and culture from the people instead of from a book or a tourist trap.

That is such a tough question...both myself and my partner have experienced some pretty amazing things.
Each person has their own idea/concept of amazing...what I might consider amazing, might pale to another's concept...and that is okay, because we each experience our lives differently.
