About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make friends with new people from all over the world. And cook for them upon request!

ABOUT ME

I'm a happy, opotomistic person who loves to meet new people and have meaningful conversations on any topic. I like to plan things, but I don't mind being spontaneous, either, and some of my best memories come from going with the flow. My main interests are art (both making art and admireing art), music (mostly just listening), food (cooking, eating, and sharing recipes), and learning about people that are different from me. My travel experience is not very vast. I have always wanted to travel, but now I'm making an effort to make it happen!I've not been very brave about traveling alone. Hopefully, couchsurfing will help me overcome that, because I'm done waiting around for someone to explore with while life just passes me by!!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe I should treat others like I would like to be treated, respect other people's way of life and open myself to learing something amazing from everyone I meet! Most people want to be understood and want to relate to someone and find a comon ground. The beauty of humanity if finding a way to relate to someone that is from a totally different culture, religion and generation and realizing that we are all human and are able to connect.

Love God with all your heart, mind, and soul and love others as you love yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to go to group events and meet travelers passing through or people that have traveled and come back with some good stories to tell. Just recently, I surprized even myself and asked to stay on someone's couch (er-floor)! It was a great experience. I'll definately try it again.

I come from a big family and I learned to cook many different things for just a couple of people or a whole mob of people! Do you miss something you ate from back home? Chances are I know how to cook it and it will bring you back to those memeories of home!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met couchsurfers for coffe, dinner, or drinks! Some of my close friends are couchsurfers. They introduced me to the website. I have had nothing but positive experiences meeting couchsurfers at meetups in Los Angeles, Irvine, Santa Ana California and now in Seoul, South Korea. I just recently took a trip to Tokyo, Japan, where I stayed with two separate couch surfers. I think it made my trip more memorable and meaningful to meet someone who lives there!

Interests

I love people! I make friends where ever I go and like to be out exploring the places I live or visit. You won't find me at home much, but if you do I'm usually cooking or reading a good book. I like to exercise in nature, make art (ceramics or drawing), learn new things, see new places, socialize (coffee shop/dinner/drinks), attend book clubs, and volunteer. I won't be able to hold my own in a conversation on TV shows or movies, because I haven't seen much of either for several years, but I'm certainly not opposed to catching a movie or watching TV if that's what you are into.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies that make me think, music that makes me move and books that keep me up all night! Basically most music or books, though. I'm happy to say I'm easily entertained. (I consider that a gift!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sometimes the little things make a person very happy! I visited tide pools on New years day 2011 with my sister and our parents and it was so much fun and so breathtaking. Likewise at the 2012 flour blosom festival in Seoul near the river I saw a group of sincronized kite fliers. From a distance it looked like they were all attached since the movements were so spot on together. I really enjoyed snorkeling off Molokini, Hawaii, and later that day we had some sea turtles swim right up to us to check us out.

Teach, Learn, Share

Here's a tip-If you're around small children in South Korea don't play that old fasioned game "I've got your nose". It turns out that's a very rude gester here that's worse then the middle finger in America. My friend learned that the hard way, but luckily he found another job quickly! LOL!

So if there's anything like that in other countries I'd like to know about it before hand so I'm not disrepectful and I don't give Americans a bad name. ;)
