Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel more deeply by staying in one place for a while.
ABOUT ME
Update: I suddenly have a family! :) My spouse, new baby, and 2 teenage stepchildren live in a cozy house here in central Texas. We may be too busy with work projects and babycare to go out much, but if you are passing through and need a place to stay or other assistance let us know.
Returned Peace Corps volunteer from Tanzania (06-08)
One of the happiest times of my life was when I lived in a cabin at a pottery in NC (03-05) with a composting toilet and worked on a nearby organic farm. A major life goal is to experience that level of beauty and sustainability in my life again as soon as possible! Preferably on my own land...
PHILOSOPHY
I believe we are all strange loops embedded in something real and worth being present for. I have faith that life has purpose, but I suspect that understanding that requires focusing away from human constructions (tangible and intangible) as much as possible. I love the outdoors as well as the glimpses of wilderness we catch in each other when we make real human connections.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
NOT ABLE TO HOST AT THIS TIME, BUT I am committed to doing my part to keep a positive, safe couchsurfing community alive in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had multiple extremely positive surfing experiences while I was living in Florida traveling around for Outward Bound. I made so many deeply enjoyable, unexpected connections just by being open to whatever came along. I love the couchsurfing community! I have also done some hosting in Brownwood and surfed in Arizona and the Ozarks.
