About Me

I'M TRAVELLNG MYSELF UNTILL THE END OF APRIL, Sorry I can't host you till that time :(

A quick but important message: Please tell me why you want to stay with me, not just anywhere. You are not a special snowflake I just háve to meet, nor am I a hotel, so show some respect by putting a little effort in a personal message based on my profile, it's easy ;)
--------------------------------

Sorry for that, Let's continue ;)

Hi there, I'm Chris, I love talking and listening, do not particularly like writing and I assume you have better things to do than reading, so here's a list of random stuff I like and dislike:

Like: Loads and loads of Interesting or chill music, Cats (I got two), Intelligent People, People who travel AND are interested in the country they're visiting, Festivals (I organize them), Politics, Making stuff look better, Building things, Discussions, The colour yellow, Mountains, Forests and walking in them, Sun, and Plants

Dislike: People who are easily offended, Homophobic people, People who never try stuff, Religion (not the same as faith), Rain, Money grabbers, People who never complain, 99% of all radio-pop and Sauerkraut.

I believe that everything should be open for discussion, even your own personality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think wealth (not only measured in money) is there to share. A couch is a luxury that should be used as much as possible. Whether it is mine or somebody else's.

And then it is of course a great way to meet remarkable people, get an insight in a person's life and his/her views on themselves and the country they live in. I have made friends for life here in less than 24 hours. This is truly amazing to me.

Interests

Very much up to anything but my main interests are beautiful things (from nature to architecture, from font types to cinematography, from people to ideas), music in particular, politics (tbough less and less) and cultures.

  • culture
  • festivals
  • politics
  • movies
  • traveling
  • socializing
  • music

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: e.g. The Doors, Gorillaz, Blur (or anything Damon Albarn does really) Burial, Beck, Eels, Bob Dylan, Buena Vista Social Club, The White Stripes, Vivaldi, Sigur Rós, The Red Army Choir, Nina Simone, Patrick Watson, Babyshambles, Tame Impala, Agar Agar and pretty much everything in between..

Movies/series/directors: e.g. Jeux d'Enfants, Terry Giliam, Wes Anderson, Stand by Me, The Truman Show, Trainspotting, Tim Burton (older ones), Groundhog Day, Parks and Recreation, Big Mouth, Poesia sin Fin, Peaky Blinders and, yes.. cliché.. Call me By Your Name..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lots of things,
but let's leave something left to talk about.

It's the views/buildings/nature/weather that makes me want to travel, it's the people that make me want to KEEP travelling ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English and Dutch, share experience on travelling cheap (it's my main talent I'm afraid..) and fixing your computer/gadgets (working with them is my job).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversations about practically anything (except sports, I couldn't care less, I'm sorry, gotta be honest)
Lots and lots of music I think is great. Where as I really hope you can teach me something new on this matter as well ;) and uh.. Some new friends probably!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Montenegro, Morocco, Myanmar, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Viet Nam
