About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To further the infantile welfare state of my province and country, raise two civicly enganged young humans, and have fun at the same time.

ABOUT ME

Hey all.
I'm a big fan of this global society we are attempting to build.
I'm a socialist and sociology student. I want to work to end the stigma of homelessness and poverty in my province.
I enjoy learning about deep ecology and experiencing all of Mother Nature. I love astronomy, not astrology, and science fiction shows.
I am Pagan in spirit, open in mind and trusting in heart.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is to stick to my priorities in life:
Good mental health is first and foremost.
After that is good, attentive parenting.
Never assuming/judging someone by their appearence.
and lastly: being generous.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted and am now looking to surf.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed for a couple months as a teenager when I was homeless, but not by choice. I also slept on the street and in shelters in Victoria and one night in Vancouver.

Interests

I am very interested in experiences, especially learning about others. I love to listen to people's life stories.
My kids are interesting, too. What lucky surfers I have who meet my kids, they're freaking adorable!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge Anne Rice fan, so don't ask me about the Twilight stuff.
I read textbooks for fun, so yes, I'm a geek.
I like the classics (literature and film) and musicals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have only ever broken one bone - a finger. I have been working, parenting, and studying all my life so I haven't done/seen anything very amazing yet.

Teach, Learn, Share

"CouchSurfing University, a school where everyone's a student and everyone's a teacher. Surfing isn't just about a place to sleep. It's about exchange."
Okay, I get this. My kids to go an independent bioregional school. We don't have new clothes or a nice car, but their education is more important, so yeah, I totally get this.
I can teach people about parenting and offer my insight into my experiences of being marginalized.
What I want to learn is what it's like in other countries. What the culture is like, mostly.
