About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm back home in Vancouver after being away for 12 years. Happy to be back, and glad to show anyone around.

ABOUT ME

Hello There!

For many years I have been working in the video game industry as level designer, and have worked on some pretty fantastic properties.

I have visited coast to coast in Canada and States, lived in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, San Francisco, Quebec City, Edmonton, and now Copenhagen, for work. Moved in Oct 2012 and so far I love the city.

So now I am in Europe ... first, time, ever. I can't wait to explore it!

PHILOSOPHY

- Live life without regrets by always confronting the difficulties in your life before they can no longer be reasonably confronted.
- Always respect those who live differently than you.
- Say yes whenever you feel like saying no with only excuses to explain yourself.
- Balance everything in your life so that you can fit as many different things in as you can.
- Be kind.
- Smile often, but not all the time, because no one like a fake smile.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not really too sure yet - still getting my feet wet.

At some point I'd be open to hosting, but for now I'm interested meeting people in the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, none. I hear that's a bad thing, but that's ok.

The reason I got onto here was because of this really awesome guy named Matt. Here, stay a while, and listen.

It all started on a road trip across Canada. I was living in Edmonton, Ontario at the time - yeesh - and couldn't wait to get out of there. So I put everything into storage and drove to (truly) beautiful British Columbia for a couple of months. At the time I was applying for position around the world, seeing what hit. Well, Copenhagen did, and therefore I'm now here.

Anyways, upon my accepting I decided to drive across the prairies, back to Ontario, and on the way see family, and maybe even pick up someone who needed a ride share. My second stop was Calgary, where I went onto Craigslist to search for someone needing a ride ... and this turned out to be Matt.

Matt is a really great guy. It was odd because it seemed like we were distant brothers - both into architecture, traveling, photography, games, and both had blond hair. It's uncanny.

So we drove 18 hours together, but not all in one shot. We stopped in Regina for the night, and found a place to stay at an International Hostel. Anyways not to bore you with details, we had a rad time walking around aimlessly, chatting about adventures, and other things.

When we were nearing Winnipeg - his destination - he told me about CouchSurfing.com, how everyone was super excellent, and there was a consistant global community that was always active. He told me that I should get onto it and see what it has to offer.

So here I am. I'm new to this, and I'm very excited to see what adventure lie in store for me :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first day I started at LucasFilm to endeavour on a three year journey into the universes of Indiana Jones and Star Wars.

Being in the middle of a North Ontario fresh water lake by myself, in a kayak, on a clear day, when a light warm rain started to fall.

Stopping at the end of a bridge in the Florida Keys to watch the largest sun I have ever seen merge into the horizon with a phonemically wondrous sky of ever changing colours.
