Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Denny, a cinematography student passionate about realist art and social storytelling. Currently, I’m on an exciting journey across Southeast Asia and Oceania with my girlfriend, she is an Anthropology student.
As a filmmaker and an anthropologist, we make a curious team! We are deeply fascinated by regional cultures and the "unpolished textures" of everyday life. For us, traveling isn't just about sightseeing; it’s a vivid experiment in social storytelling and genuine human connection.
At my film academy, I study how directors like Jia Zhangke use long takes to stitch together historical wounds, and I also document the lives of marginalized communities in different cities through my lens. These experiences have given me a deep respect for reality—to me, every Couchsurfing journey is a vivid experiment in social storytelling.
I’m eager to learn about regional cultures through genuine human connection, and to capture the unpolished textures of the world we live in.
