About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To eat every type of edible fruit on the planet.

ABOUT ME

Risible:
1. causing or capable of causing laughter; laughable; ludicrous.
2. having the ability, disposition, or readiness to laugh.

I am definitely the 2nd and try hard to be the 1st. If you are risible as well, we will probably get along!

PHILOSOPHY

I have this theory that the Golden Rule is severely flawed. I mean, it's a start, but the truth of the matter is that people want different things and doing unto others what you want done unto you is, ultimately, not really that considerate. I propose instead a Platinum Rule: do unto others as they wish done unto them. This requires a bit more observation and empathy, but I think it's worth it in the end.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My apartment was once a hopping CS hub--I've lost count of how many people we've taken in at this point! I've only gone couchsurfing once but it was so wonderful I would love to do it again.

Star's profile inspired me to do this. When I'm traveling (especially for work) I am always looking for free wifi. Here's a site that will help you find free Wifi if you need it:

And here's one for public toilets in NYC:

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've enjoyed many Couchsurfing experiences, hosting and surfing. It is so pleasant when traveling to be invited into a home (that is usually nicer than the hotels on offer!) and meet someone who really knows the area.

Interests

Computers & the internet (what they do, their history, how to do more with them, the people who build them, what they are/are not good for, their design, etc.), rollerskating, being Asian-American, making and dancing to music, marine biology, drawing, photography, making cool stuff, how to fix the world

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Anything danceable (dancehall, reggaeton, dubstep, other stuff with a beat) is usually welcome in my house. I also like anything with a great origin story, and any music that sounds like video games.

I also dig plenty of other stuff. Happy stuff, especially.

Favorite movies:
Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Pootie Tang. Hackers. Tampopo.

Books:
I have the 24th edition of a manual about how to use computers that was self-published by some guy in Boston from like the mid-80s to, uh, now? It's called "This is the best computer book." I guess that says it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been at a dancehall show from 5 PM to 9 AM the next morning.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica

Countries I’ve Lived In
