About Me

Greetings Fellow Couchsurfers!

Though I Find The Idea Of Condensing Myself Into An Egotistical Synopsis A Little Distasteful I Shall Try To Be As Honest And Genuine As I Can, As I Realise We're All Just Looking To Know Eachother A Little To Begin With!

So Where To Begin? I'm A Musician, A Record Collector, A Photographer/Film Maker, An Environmentalist And An Avid Lover Of The Natural World. Thankfully All Of These Traits Have Helped Guide Me To My Current Project Of Documenting The Forgotten Or As Yet Unknown Music's Of The World As Well As Attempting To Document The Very People Who Made Them And In The Process Hopefully Preserve The History And Culture That Surrounded Each Records Conception.

I Love Engaging Conversation And To Learn Of Other's Cultures And Philosophies. I'm A Very Laid Back Person And Am Also Very Aware Of My Actions, So Hosts Can Rest Assured I Shall Be Nothing But Considerate When Staying In Your Graciously Offered Homes.

Thank You For Your Interest And I Look Forward To Possibly Meeting Some Of You!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I Was A Kid I've Always Had An Element Of Wonder About Exploring The Planet And Since Then Have Also Gained A Massive Love Of World Music (Usually A Bad Term To Use I Know But I Literally Mean Music Of The World) And Thus Gained A Secondary But Equal Reason To Seek Out What Awaits Beyond The Shores Of My Country.

Music, Movies, and Books

A Very Difficult Section For Me To Condense But To Put It Very Simply -

Music - Anything 50's - Late 70's Is A Definate, Everything Else Is A Little More Selective But I Literally Dig A Bit Of Everything.

Film/TV - I Love Sci-fi And Adore Comedy But I'm Always Open To Anything. Basically When It Comes To Film/TV I Tend To Follow My Motto Of "If It's Good, I'll Like It!".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I Got To See "Witch", The First Zambian Band To Record A Record And One Of Zambia's Biggest Zamrock Bands Perform Their First Gig In The UK (A Long Time Dream Of Founder And Lead Singer Jaggari Chanda) And When I Returned Home From The Gig Found Out A Few Of My Records Would Be Featured In An Upcoming Film On The Rumba Scene Of The Congo.

Teach, Learn, Share

I Play A Few Instruments But Guitar, Drums And Bass Are My Strongest So I Would Be More Then Happy To Teach A Little Bit Of Any Or To Just Jam Out.

I Have A Large Catalogue Of Music, Spanning Many Era's And Countries That You Are Welcome To Explore, Grab A Copy Of Or Learn About (Though My Knowledge Varies From Band To Band..).

I Always Have A Camera With Me So I Have No Problem Sharing It For Whatever Purpose You May Need One For At The Time, Be It The Role Of A Live In Paparazzi Or Just To Grab A Few Snaps Of Something You Want To Sell On Ebay.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Apart From Hopefully A Pleasant Time In My Company And What's Listed Above In The "Teach, Learn, Share" Section, I Must Admit I Don't Quite Know What To Put Here Without Writing Some Sort Of Souless List Of Mundane Day To Day Chores.

But I Shall Say That I Have A Very Confident And Engaging Personality And A Fascination With The Various Philosophies And Views Of The People I Meet, So At The Very Least, I Hope I Can Share A Glimpse Of The World Through My Perceptions Of It And In Turn Gain A Glimpse Of Yours.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, Isle of Man, United States, Wales
