Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Humor First. Beyond that, have a good time and not screw up too much stuff on the way.
ABOUT ME
Humor First. I like wandering, seeing things I've never seen.
I listen to whales in the Arctic to see how they're affected by oil drilling.
I studied physics at Northeastern University in Boston because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Then did some an internship in Virginia, sailed the Caribbean and then another internship in the midwest looking at grass. After graduating I sailed on tallships for a couple years on both sides of the US, some central America, went through the Panama Canal a couple times and even went to the Galapagos.
I was in Florida going to grad school for a year and a half, then Madrid for a while. Being in one place for a long time kind of scares me but maybe I'll be in California a bit.
PHILOSOPHY
Humor First. Safety fourth. Other things are far more variable.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Big Lebowski is pretty amazing. Hitchhiker's Guide series also has probably been a fairly formative influence being that I first heard the radio show at the age of 7 and have been listening and reading ever since. Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell is one of my favorite books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Played trombone at Carnegie and Avery Fisher Halls, starred in one musical and one comedy on the road that eventually becomes Broadway in NY, sang on stage at the Apollo, learned to throw a frisbee with my foot, attempted to swim accross the Mississippi, once biked to Nebraska for some Mexican food, slept in a teepee and an earth-lodge for a week each, graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Physics, biked from Boston to Chicago, learned taught and practiced Celestial Navigation, worked on 7 different tallships, including the Russian Kruzenshtern (the second largest tallship in the world), been through the Panama Canal twice on one of them, gotten extremely missplaced on the side of Mt. Rainier, slept in a Russian Submarine, sailed to the Galapagos, and climbed up to Machu Picchu on train tracks.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know celestial navigation. It could take longer than a night or two to teach it, but I could try.
