About Me
The text below is updated on Feb 6th, 2025.
◆◇Background◇◆
I’m Chung, which originates from my Given Name, Chung Ju, and my Family Name is Hsieh. However, you can make it easy and just call me Chung. I was born, raised and growing up in Taiwan, which is definitely a self-governing country with exclusive sovereignty. However, it has a confusing formal name on the basis of the historical context, which I could explain to you in person. The metropolis I live comprises Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Keelung, and roughly 9 million people reside in this area.
Both of the fields in bachelor and master I study are related to the political science and governmental administration, but I’m not really proficient in dissertation writing. Therefore, I don’t really acquire my master degree in the end. After my study, I’ve worked in trading and logistics for more than five years.
◆◇Wanderlust◇◆
Over past decades, I traveled a lot around the countries in Asia, Eastern Europe and North America during school vacations and public holidays. Therefore, I know the culture, food and life in South East Asia and East Asia very well, and I could share all of my life experience with you.
After my previous journeys, I find that I do relish the moments when I immerse myself in various cultural experiences. That is the most cheerful factor in my travel experiences, and I indeed obtain the fruitful pleasure from it.
◆◇Personality◇◆
In brief, the typical description for me is open-minded, ambivert and positive.
I’m quite open-minded and liberal in almost all aspects of life, and I only decline the matters in dangerous and illegal situation. Regardless of your identity, race, gender, sexual orientation, ideology and religion, I always try to stay and host different people to realize the thoughts from various communities. Further, I usually prefer to have personal chats with small group of people, but it’s also thrilled at the lively event with vibrant and interesting groups of people. Moreover, Positive thoughts always tend to cause the affirmative influences, so it’s better to keep in positive mindset. However, sometimes it’s not easy as our expectations.
◆◇Upcoming travel Plans◇◆
My Yearlong Global Trip will start from March 2025, and the first destination will be Melbourne, Australia.
◆◇Couchsurfing Experience◇◆
I have hosted more than 100 groups of travelers and stayed with more than 20 hosts in the past decade, but I don’t really record it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I travel, I always prefer to know local culture as much as I could do. Friendship is always the best approach to experience the authentic culture.
Therefore, I usually make local friends to have terrific cultural exchange to broaden my vision. Further, Couchsurfing is a typical form of Humanity. Capitalism can’t manipulate the pattern we establish to make friendship.
Mutual trust is the core pillar to embody the humanity among the interpersonal interactions in Couchsurfing.
Interests
I have numerous interests listed below:
1. Travel and Hospitality.
Obviously, it’s the main reason why I’m here.
2. Friendship
I love to make friends from different countries so that I can know the way of living in different cultures. I also can introduce my home country to people from all over the world via the friendship built in Couchsurfing.
3. Culture and History.
When I search for the attractions, I usually check out the UNESCO’s cultural heritage list first. Based on the concrete and abstract cultural elements, we can find that both are the consequences of historical context.
4. Food from various cultures.
Based on my previous experiences, Laksa from Singapore and Malaysia is the tastiest one for me. Hopefully, I could find out more delicious food in my future journeys.
