About Me

Couchsurfing keeps getting my location wrong, so contact me for details. I work near Changping Lu station on Line 7, which is where I spend most of my time in Shanghai.

My "day+ job" combines all my interests in education, language, technology, community management, language preservation, etc. In my "spare time" I sometimes do food tours. When I travel, I enjoy learning about new places through the local language and food.

I was raised in the Midwest, moved to the Northwest, and kept going west until I was in the East. I've been living in China for 5 years now even though every year I just planned on staying one more year.

I have a pretty full schedule, but if you give me advance notice and dietary preferences, I'd be happy to suggest a place to meet up.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In college, I lived in a Co-Op where I had friends who couchsurfed; it sounded awesome and the community of people who appreciate and support couchsurfing is really amazing. But, I kept having roommates or other living conditions that were not conducive to couchsurfers so haven't been able to host.

But, if you're in my area and I have time, I'd love to introduce you to my corner of Shanghai.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sang in the first round of "Voice of China" but was quickly eliminated :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I will teach you math.

I can tell you how to get around China and where to eat. I might be able to suggest some good language learning resources.
