About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed a few couches in my time though, mostly friends of mine. I've done some volunteering with other organisations like workaway and wwoofing and while I was living in my last house with an available sofa it was often occupied with visiting friends.

Interests

Getting to know new places is something I love to do, walking around, getting lost and finding my way back again. Walking is something I love in itself, with my headphones on and listening to music i can happily pass hours and miles on foot.
Music might be the one thing that can alter my mood more than any other, I find great pleasure in great music, and I love finding something new to listen to. I love a good night in a club.
I read whenever I can, I feel like there is a constantly expanding library of books that I want to know, Vonnegut, Kundera and Garcia Marquez are three authors that have really spoken to me.
I've been really enjoying cooking for the past couple of years, I try to always have some herbs and spices to hand and I'd go for a home cooked meal over buying something pre-prepared any day. I've been getting into baking breads as well recently, which is a lot of fun.
I play chess everyday, I'm improving slowly or I like to think so at least. I'm also learning spanish, my level is quite good right now as I've been living in Buenos Aires for nearly two years, but as every language teacher knows there is a still a massive amount left to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, some of my favourite authors are Kurt Vonnegut, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Milan Kundera.
I'm a music lover as well, nothing has the power to change my mood more than hearing some great music. I mostly listen to electronic music like Four Tet or Actress from the UK.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the most beautiful places I've seen have been here in Argentina, Iguazu falls in Misiones and the mountains of Salta and Jujuy.
Some of the best times I had have been at music festivals in the UK and Europe. Bestival on the Isle of Wight and Exit in Serbia stand out.
Other less dramatic but no less important moments in my life have been everyday events with great friends, or goals achieved like living abroad, finding work and doing well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an English Teacher by trade and I'm always happy to help people who want to improve their English.
I've got a few other skills that I'm happy to share with anyone who wants them. I picked up a good level of Spanish while I was living in Latin America and would love the chance to practice with any Spanish speaking surfers.
