About Me
I believe that money is the root of evil in the world and that human interaction adn communication is one of the most beautiful and powerful things we can do. we learn so much through conversation, we learn about perspectives, experiences, opinions and history. A conversation is so much more than just words.
In future I would like to start a theatre group that travels to forgotten places of the world where people have been left behind and are still opressed and dont know their rights. There we would put on pieces of theatre about rights, the constitution of the country they are in and standing up against descrimination or just taking a stand. While we are there we will get the oppertunity to converse with the people living there and learn their stories through conversation. In the end we would work on compiling these stories into a performance to put on in the major cities to promote knowledge about these issues people still face.
This year I did a 3 month internship in Nairobi, Kenya at a human rights NGO called KELIN. The next major journey will be my time in the USA which will be between July and November. I look forward to interacting with you
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Im couchsurfing to see this amazing and vast world we live in. To get a chance to interact with the beautiful people of our planet who arent interested in self profit and just making money but rather people who are passionate about the universal and individual struggles imposed on us by society. People wo dont step on their brothers and sisters to make it to the top but rather build a stairway with their brothers and sisters to make a path which everyone can take in future. ending the cycle of poverty and wealth gaps faced everywhere. Im looking for conversations to broaden my mind where i can learn but also teach through sharing my experiences and oppertunities ive been fortunate enough to have. Im looking to interact with people who dont have set opinions bt rather are willing to have an open mind to everything and willing to just listen sometimes.
Interests
I am interested in Human Rights, growth as a community, equality and theater. I enjoy swimming, Hiking, talking and and am willing to try almost anything that is a new experience and wont have any negative effects on the rest of my life. I enjoy exploring the land we live on. I also am really interested in just enjoying the moments we are in instead of trying to record it
- performing arts
- cycling
- rock climbing
Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite books would be The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger, The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, Georges marvelous key to the Universe, Harry Potter by JK Rowling, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (but im conflicted about this one because i believe that it is just a glorification of our modern society to make us grateful for the world we live in when actually our reality is much harsher) and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
The movies ive really enjoyed are The Paradise Suite, Shutter Island, Yellow Submarine, The Wall, James bond movies, Harry Potter and a few more.
In terms of music I am still very much discovering myself. I enjoy live performances but also enjoy American Rappers such as Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole etc. I also like Pink Floyd, The Sexpistols, Ian Dury, John Lennon, Bob Marley. I also like listening to South African music by people like Casper Nyovest, AKA, Ricky Rick, Nasty C etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I did a 3 month internship in Kenya at a Human Rights Ngo, KELIN. I came to the country without having met a single person and now know many people who i would like to keep ties with for the rest of my life. It was amazing exploring the country from climbing Mt. Kenya (4850m) to going to places like Mathare (the 2nd biggest slum).
