About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experiencing and enjoying as much of what the world has to offer (I know, it sounds a bit corny)

ABOUT ME

I consider myself to be fun and easy going but if I have to believe certain newspapers I'm apparently also 'naive' and 'reckless' (https://www.sbs.com.au/news/naive-reckless-tourists-couchsurfing-in-war-torn-afghanistan) (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/middle-east/articles/couchsurfing-in-afghanistan) (https://www.foxnews.com/world/western-tourists-head-to-war-torn-afghanistan-for-authentic-travel-experience)

I try to keep an open mind and am always looking for new things to learn, especially about and from different cultures and places along the way. I have a bachelor in criminology but for the last couple of years I have mostly been working as an event manager in various place, often for a short period of time with the aim of saving up enough for the next trip.
While travelling I like to spend most of my time exploring the city or scenery by just wandering around, getting lost in small side streets and stopping at unassuming places for food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There are a lot of good reasons for using Couchsurfing, but for me the most important one is the fact that you get to see a side of a city or country you would otherwise never be able to see. Whilst it is sometime easier to just book a room or bed for a place you visit, couchsurfing always turns out to be massively rewarding - immersing yourself in places that you would otherwise merely be at the edge of. I strongly belief in the concept behind it as an alternative to traditional accommodation and try to return the favour whenever I've got a couch to offer :)
