About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the parts of Europe i've not been to yet.

ABOUT ME

Well i'm a carpenter in my mid-late 20's
I've a good outlook on life and would like to think i could do my city justice if i ever need to show anyone about. And country for that matter, but i'm in love with Dublin. They say the people are the city's main attraction. I can't say i disagree but there's a lot of things of interest in this seemingly small city.
I love music too. Who doesn't though.
But you'll need to share some bands in common if i'm to bring you to some decent places in the city!
I had enough of random techno and drum and bass clubs!
Recently i took up acting and also have been very taken by soccer. Mainly playing though.
As long as you're just the right amount of talkitive i should have no problem getting to know you!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm as carefree as most. I like to try something new every year or so. My recent fad is acting in a local drama group. Very rewarding, i recommend it to anyone!
Also i like a good drink! Most Irish do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far i've mainly met couchsurfers my friend has hosted and it confirms all the good things i assumed about this project. It works pretty well.
I've since couch surfed with folk in New Zealand and it's been entirely rewarding.
My best friend does a lot of hosting and i prefer at the moment to live precariously through him as i don't have adequate room to host!

Music, Movies, and Books

My 2 favourite films are Amelié and Eternal sunshine, i couldnt pick one. American History X...wow. Then there's Annie Hall, Deconstucting Harry, Sweet and Lowdown, Radio Days, Manhattan, 100 Things you wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask, ahh Woody Allen's cool!, The Rutles. Man on The Moon, Dirty Pretty Things, A Very Long Engagement (Audrey Tatou in general), Sling Blade was class. Taxi Driver, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest(or), The Shining, (that's definitly one of the best scary films ever, and i should know i've seen Jurassic park), Gone With The Wind has to be the MOST dramatic film ever. I quite liked it actually. Godfather 1 & 2
Anything with Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro and perhaps Bill Murray.

Some of my favourites bands and stuff are:
The Beatles, Sufjian Stevens, Ed Harcourt, Paul Brady, Wilco, Elliott Smith, John Martyn, Snowpatrol (pre Final Straw), SFA, Rage ATM, The Beastie Boys, Gomez, Pavement, Jeff Buckley, Malkmus, Grandaddy, Turin Brakes, The Beta Band, Sheryl Crow, Alfie, Mark Geary, RADIOHEAD!!, Blur, Soulwax, dEUS, Kings Of Convenience, The Kinks, Simon and Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bjork, i think i should say Jeff Buckley again, Sarah G, Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Willy Mason, Cat Power, Fiona Apple, Tycho Brahe / Tychonaut, Modest Mouse, Randy Newman, Pearl Jam, Mirah, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Django Reinhart, Billie Holiday, Feist, Heatmiser, Glenn Miller, Ger Wolfe, The Dismemberment Plan.

And finally i have read and enjoyed:

Dancer By Colm McCann, 1984 By George Orwell, Brave New World By Aldous Huxley (Cheers Brian, though i probably should have put that one before 1984), Vernon God Little By J. B. C. Pierre is great. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a SAVAGE book by Robert Louis Stevenson, great great stuff. This Side Of Brightness by Colum McCann, he's a great Irish writer, i can't understand why there's not more who-ha about him.
Catch 22 by Joesph Heller, The Diary of Anne Frank is heartbreaking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the Himilaya's, Kathmandu, the beauty of New Zealand and Thailand. Dived the great barrier reef.
Bungee jumped in New Zealand, i'm not sure how i convinced myself but thank god i did!
Drove 7000 miles across the United States, more or less single-handedly.
