About Me

I'm Ciaron, from the UK, studying French & Spanish at the University of Manchester which is where I normally live. I've just finished doing an Erasmus exchange in Martinique (because that's totally in Europe?) - and now in Barcelona to do Erasmus again! Unfortunately I can't host anyone whilst I'm here but I'd love to in Manchester!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Visiting any new place or country in the world is always great. But if you're just gonna walk around on your own, check the place out, take a few photos and tick it off your list where's the fun in that? People are what makes a place and if you're travelling it's always better to meet people. Speaking from experience it's better to have a social aspect to travelling and that's why I'm here!

My housemate Joy listed our place on Couchsurfing so I've helped her host a good few people over the last two years and made some great friends! So, although I've only gotten round to formally making an account recently I already feel like a seasoned Couchsurfer. Some of my friends in Manchester are hosts on Couchsurfing and I've met plenty of surfers through them too and now I'm keen to have my own experiences on Couchsurfing!

Interests

Yeah so I'm not a person who has many 'hobbies' to speak of. My free time is entirely occupied with chatting with friends, going out with friends, being with friends, learning languages and sleeping. Oh and listening to music (see below) whilst I'm doing all of those things.

  • traveling
  • socializing
  • music
  • languages
  • study abroad

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not much of a reader or even a film person, other than the obvious ones that everyone loves without question (eg. Titanic)
But for music I love basically every genre with a couple of exceptions, I can listen to and discuss music for hours on end and am always keen to hear your suggestions for what to listen to! Music is such a perfect window into other cultures and the best way to learn languages!
Some of my favourite artists:

- Veronica Maggio
- Cœur de Pirate
- Beirut
- First Aid Kit
- Txarango

Countries I’ve Visited

Barbados, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Saint Lucia, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

Martinique, United Kingdom
