To find the courage to begin projects in sustainability within community and business. To learn and experience a culture other than my own. To share my love for nature, people and curiosity through the written word.

ABOUT ME

I am a business student from the beautiful county of San Luis Obispo, California. On my last trip, I went on tour with my choir, giving concerts throughout Germany and Austria.

I love birds, nature, music, singing, laughing, dancing and writing. I've been a belly dancer for 10 years, a bartender/server for about 4 years and a dental assistant for about 3 years. Books and poetry are passions of mine and I absolutely love to learn, make good food, as well as make good friends.

This year, I am most excited to finish my business degree, look for opportunities in sustainable business, and get back into the arts... while re-exploring the unknown/what it means to not be leashed by a laptop and textbooks!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that though the world is a tumultuous place, we are mostly good. If it weren't for the bad, we'd have nothing to compare against to find the beauty in things... and for that I am grateful. Nature and expression are what I most identify with. I feel my “purpose” lies somewhere between those.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a part a part of WWOOFing which is world wide opportunities on organic farms. My grandfather helped to build one of these farms and I've grown up on a plot of land that supported solar power, windmill pumped water, chickens raised for eggs, and a small garden for vegetables. We have our own well which has enabled me to be water (as well as energy) conscientious.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been Couchsurfing in Spain, Morocco, and Wales. It was a lovely experience, visiting with kind, interesting and knowledgeable people.

Interests

I love learning about and working with animals with an emphasis on birds. I am inspired by nature, books, reading, writing, poetry, singing, dancing, laughing, cooking, learning, positive and knowledgeable individuals who likewise love to laugh and learn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went skydiving in California over the Channel Islands! It was amazing! The man I was diving with was from old Yugoslavia and regaled me of his old military days there. It was definitely a James Bond moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am partially knowledgable with bird and plant identification and uses. I have some knowledge concerning singing and dancing techniques. I know how to change oil on a car and a handful of other skills that may or may not be useful. I am accepting of any lessons but would especially love to become proficient in the native language of the country I'm staying in.
