I am a young at heart musician, writer, cyclist and communications manager who is new to couch surfing but loves to travel, meet new people and experience new cultures. I have lived in the Midwest, the South, the East Coast, the West Coast, Europe and Morocco, and spent much of my 20s and early 30s traveling. My current passions are cycling, hiking, playing piano, singing, and of course, traveling. Now that my daughter is grown (how did that happen?), I would like to start traveling and exploring more again. My motto has always been "Carpe Diem" and I look forward to the next adventurous chapter in this crazy journey called life. :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, meet new people, and really live life! I generally dislike staying in hotels, preferring to meet people and stay with locals, friends or in hostels. It's *so* much better that way!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I jumped off a mountain in Austria and paraglided down to the base to conquer my fear of heights. I also hitchhiked from California to Nebraska with my saxophone when I was 20, and traveled around Europe for 5 1/2 months playing my flute on the street, working in hostels, hiking the Alps and meeting amazing people. More recently, I hiked 18 miles up Half Dome and back, and have done several long bike rides in Northern California and the Sierras.
