Overview
About Me
I'm a safe host for LBGTQIA, people of color and all religions (and non-religions), single women, and everyone else.—except for Donald Trump. F*ck Donald Trump.
My family is from the eastern US and Manila, Philippines.
I offer visitors: information, hot (quick) showers, clean towels and sheets, WiFi, a microwave and a little fridge space, tent sites, and sometimes a private room (no door) and double air bed with sheets (check first). The kitchen might be available. Wash your own dishes! I hate washing dishes.
NOTE: ***Please be prepared to travel independently and feed yourself.*** Sometimes I might offer to go out with you, drive you someplace, or share my food, but I cannot promise this will happen. (1) I am a part-time introvert. (2) You are on vacation, but I am busy with daily life. I still need to fix the lawnmower, do paperwork, and walk the dog, etc. (3) I cannot afford the extra time, food, and gas.
My small, humble house is near: buses, grocery stores, restaurants, the university, hospitals, Lake Washington, and the Burke Gilman Trail.
Bicyclists: I have tools, a bike stand, and a garage with a monitored alarm if you need to leave your gear awhile.
Lifestyle: I’m quiet, go to bed late and get up late, and am not meticulously neat. I might have time to hang out but might not. I like to swear.
~House Rules~
Must love the dog! Must tolerate the invisible cat.
No smoking or fragrances. (I have asthma.)
Short showers, and share the only bathroom, please! I have a middle-age bladder, and the neighbors might disapprove of my peeing in the yard. :-)
NOTE: I'm not looking to hook up.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to open my life to new possibilities and prepare myself for future travels.

Music, Movies, and Books
Right now I'm excited about Holst: The Planets, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Little Feat, and Dvorak: New World Symphony. But that changes.
Movies: Lots--I'll tell you some other time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I wrote 100,000 words of a novel during two NaNoWriMos. I haven’t shown it to anyone besides my mother.
My dork-superpower is scouring the Oxford English Dictionary and other resources for strange, rare, and archaic words.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Sustainable gardening techniques, edible garden plants, invasive-plant science, editing, writing. Also gardening, pruning, soil building, composting, editing, or flute (if I remember how).
I can also teach you urban bicycling safety (I’m a U.S.-certified trainer) or teach a newbie how to ride or change a tire.
.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can help cook, do light gardening and pruning (or teach you to), entertain your pets, and feed and water your farm animals. I can tutor you in writing and environmental science.
