music interests consist mainly of classical orchestral music and indie-ish female singer-songwriters (Regina Spektor, Neko Case, Laura Marling, Kate Bush, Mitski, etc.). Always happy to listen to new stuff!

Childhood favorites include Jane Eyre, Flowers for Algernon, Middlesex, and Amelia Bedelia. Currently reading lots about Chinese education and social issues. I also can appreciate a good cookbook.

I'm fluent in Mandarin Chinese as well as the Shanghainese dialect. I also teach English for a living. I'd love to introduce people to knitting -- you too can make a sweater! I'm an amateur/aspiring crossword writer.
