CURRENT MISSION
To learn something new
ABOUT ME
I'm the kind of person who would order something I didn't recognize off the menu just so I could see what it was. You never know what your new favorite food could be.
I'm currently in college studying biology and Spanish. After college, I plan on going to medical school. I grew up in California, and would like to move back one day.
I'm easy to get along with, polite, easily excitable, kind, funny, and always looking for the next adventure!
PHILOSOPHY
Don't leave out the butter.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Completely new! Couchsurfing was recommended by a friend.
Interests
I love to cook and try new foods (and new experiences in general!) I always tend to buy more food than I can eat because I get too excited in grocery stores thinking of what I can make for dinner.
In my free time I like to write (short stories or poetry), and I'm a fan of slam poetry, though I don't perform it.
My current interest-in-progress is photography.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: My favorite movie of all time is Amelie, but in general I love, love, love, period pieces. The more elaborate, the better! The killer combination for me is a period piece directed by Joe Wright starring Kiera Knightley (Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, & Anna Karenina).
Music: The xx, Mumford & Sons, Arcade Fire, Fun, The Killers, Bad Books, Radical Face, Of Monsters and Men, The Lumineers, Passenger. I also enjoy calm electronic music (like Bonobo, Nujabes, Tycho) and, on the other end of the spectrum, trap house music (Baauer, Diplo, etc).
Books: My favorite author is Jeffery Eugenides. I must have read Middlesex at least six times. I just finished "The Marriage Plot" and loved it!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few years ago I was on vacation in Maui and we drove the Hana highway. The highway itself is a sight to see, but what stuck with me the most was how the sky looked as we were driving back at night. There were no manmade lights at all, and the number of stars in the sky was amazing. There's so much out there that we can't see! Having grown up in the suburbs of the Bay Area, I was always around light pollution, so this was the first time I really saw the night sky. The fact that I got to see with the ocean waves breaking right next to me made it all the more breathtaking.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a biology student, so if you want to talk about biochemistry or cells, I'm your girl!
I can also teach kitchen skills, if you are interested in learning to cook.
I really want to learn how to crochet or knit.
