About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to work and figure out how to travel in and around my work, please god, now that I have gotten travel experience! I love life.
ABOUT ME
I am a child of aerospace and machine shops, with a taste for classical stuff. I've done a lot by now, nearly 60 years old, and I am grateful for all of it - lots of beauty in my life. It is time to see the world... Yup. Looking forward to ancient ruins and artifacts, different cultures and styles. People are wonderful! So various! I'm excited.
PHILOSOPHY
I personally believe we all have a responsibility to one another - there, I've said it. I also believe it is pretty easy to see good stuff, humor, and beauty.... but sometimes you have to put your mind to it, and other times you might have to wait a little.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to host, and I want to surf. I have now hosted via the website, and I surfed informally with two hosts I made contact with while traveling who turned out to be part of the Couchsurfer network.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Historically I like to travel by staying with friends and family - and I like to have time with my friends and family by having them stay with me, just rubbing shoulders as they pursue thier visit to the area. I think couch surfing is a natural outgrowth of that impulse.
Interests
I like young people, classical and pretty much all other kinds of music. Gardening, cooking, outdoors, art and architecture, looking around... also reading, dancing (not necessarily swing, sorry), video/movies... lots of stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books
Gilgamesh fascinated me, finally got Canterbury Tales into me, delightful... Mozart is awesome, but I also like to sing along with all kinda of stuff - oh, Patsy Cline, wow- I'm a soprano basically, entirely untrained and uneven.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I jumped a fallen oak tree once; another time I dove off into a ravine, caught by a baby bay tree: I was unhurt both times in the same little Toyota Corolla. That was pretty amazing and great for perspective and gratitude.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach my job - benchtop chemistry for wineries. I can kinda teach science, I have a solid foundation but a lot of ignorance.
