About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Take some time to see this country and understand it from the ground up.
ABOUT ME
I'm the type of person who looks back on her Couchsurf 'about me' every time and thinks, "Yikes! And you're supposed to be a writer??"
PHILOSOPHY
Learning is fun
sanctity of the domestic space!
non-violent communication
"stasis is death!"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to be polite, courteous, generally decent. Have surfed more than I've hosted, always a good time.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met some of the most interesting people via this site, cool places around town by proxy. Like half the people who've hosted me on here have done so in ass-saving situations, teaching me about hospitality, grace, and kindness in this alleged catfish serial-killer time.
Interests
Cooking, sitting around outside, sitting around inside, sitting in a lawn chair inside or out, talking, walking, dogs, agriculture/farming, public policy/development, skiing, hiking, and I'm always being foiled in my attempts to read. Really I just run around doing something or other. I like to run but I have a suspicion that it's not the best activity for my joints. A crafty homebody who likes to clean and run errands, being a housewife sounds ideal if the whole "finding a job" thing doesn't work out.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music, movies, painting, and books are all important to me. So much so is it a personal and religious experience that I really don't know what more to say.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching a sunrise from the top of an Appalachian lookout tower, clouds pouring away from the sky to reveal mountains. But sometimes watching a sunrise from my Piedmont bedroom window after an all-nighter of homework is just as nice, as are the ones on the highway, North-bound for Vermont with family, year after year.
